To all NCOs/Cadets
If you are 16 years old on 4th June. You can sign up for the Basic Airborne Course. If you are interested let me know in advance.
A brief run through
-There will be 2 tests. 1 at HQ NCC the other at PW, SOTSC, Hendon Camp (Parachute Wing, Special Operations Tactical Support Centre) aka Commando's Camp
-The 1 at HQ is on 28th April at 1500 Hrs
-The course is long 4th June - 20th June though you can use their mess (rest area) and facilities like badminton court, swimming pool.
-You will come under the command and control of the trainers at PW, SOTSC.
For those who are not yet 16 you can take note and start training or preparing yourself as this course is physically demanding with loads of landing drills and you really are going to jump from an airplane.
The criteria at HQ NCC (Note they are very strict on selection, push ups all must be standard, chest touch ground, no resting, sit up - elbows touch knee etc. etc.)
30 push ups within 1 min
30 sit-ups within 1 min
8 chin-ups
2.4km run in long 4 within 12min 30 seconds

**This is the only course whereby if you earned the badge, you can sew the badge on when you enlist for NS. Meaning you can bring over the badge to NS**

To all cadets,
For your information you should be made aware (especially those who go home in number 4), that when you are wearing the uniform, there is a set of rules to follow. Moreover, even if not in uniform there are certain expectations that is expected of you. The following ppt slides will teach you how to properly conduct yourselves in uniform and when you are with a lady, (the age of chivalry).
As such, kindly navigate to the bottom left on downloadable references and download the ppt slide. Read up on the Ethics & Decorum.
Alternatively, if you find that downloading takes too long. For those who have my MSN. You can request for it through MSN and I will send it to you. Email works too, so long as you receive it and read up on it.

To all concerned, below is the Routine Order for next week's training. (It's not next next as the coming camp week is referred to as the coming week)
N.B Attire: Full u + PT Kit Part Cs the unknown bit of the RO will be made known to you on the actual day. No use trying to predict/ guess what it may be.
The Routine Order may be subject to changes without prior notice. Games may be included based on the weather and time constraints (if any) on that day.

Firstly, apologies for this late post.
This post is to congratulate all the people involved for making ALTC a successful and memorable camp. Good job to all including the Part Cs who remained motivated even though the 2nd day was full of tests and Part Bs who participated in the activities. Of course, not forgetting those who helped out. The Camp Commanders, Cadet Lieutenant (C/LTA) Fazul and of course our CO and TO.
Good job with the performance and consistency. We hope that you cadets would keep up this kind of performance in the trainings.

To all,
below is the Routine Order for tomorrow's (11/3) training as follows.
Attire: Part A -PT Kit Part B - Full uniform Part C - Half uniform Part D - Full set
N.B The Routine Order is and will be subjected to changes. This is the tentative plan for tomorrow. Notably, it will be changed in lieu of wet weather; Games and Field Craft are those that may be changed in order to accommodate the cadets accordingly. Specialists may change venue at your own discretion but do make the change known (if it's not already changed) to the USM or AUSM.

Tomorrow, 7 March 2009 would be the first time Bukit Merah NCC is taking part in an inter-school Freestyle Drill competition among the West District. Although the competition tomorrow might be tough, work hard for it! Do yourselves proud, go on, be a man and do the right thing =] Be sure to drink more water and have ample rest before the competition tomorrow, goodluck.

P.S: Remember to bring your Berets, and ensure your uniforms are in perfect order to avoid the deduction of marks. Goodluck.
